What is a target market? Why are they so important? A target market is a certain group of people that a company targets and wishes to purchase their product. They are very important because depending on your target market you determine who you are addressing and what exactly you need to write to address the correct group of people. My target market is very similar to Cosmopolitan's target market, and Allure's target market. I want to target women from the age of 17 through 35. My secondary target market would be older women and maybe younger girls.
